Zauresh Shutova

Zauresh Shutova graduated F.Schiller University (Jena, Germany), the Faculty of Literature Theory and Art History. Starting from 2006 she heads the FES office in  Astana. She is a coordinator of projects in such topics as principles of legal statehood, international standards of human rights, and support of trade union movement. An important part of her work is devoted to creating dialogue platforms on the same topics between representatives of state structures and civil society. Hobbies: simultaneous and consecutive translation on the governmental level.

Gulnara Kusherbayeva

Gulnara holds a higher degree in Economics, Law, and Humanities (Pedagogical Institute in Kokshetau). She previously worked in German Embassy in Almaty, “Najada Frauennetzwerk Almaty” NGO, where she was a co-organizer of several European projects on women's rights. Professional training: Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany on the issues of citizenship, FES financial reporting training in Bonn.

Alima Tengisbai coordinates gender projects at the FES Kazakhstan. She graduated from Kazakh Abylai Khan University of International relations and World languages. She is a fellow of the German Academic Exchange Service.

Medet Suleimen

Medet Suleimen is a graduate of the Politics and Security MA Program 2013 from OSCE Academy and also he has BA and MA in International Relations from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. He has been working since 2014 as a Programme Officer for the Friedrich Ebert Foundation Kazakhstan Office in Almaty (thereafter FES Kazakhstan). He manages an array of projects in the fields of foreign policy and youth policy. In 2017 he had a chance to take part in the International Parliament Scholarship Programme, a five-month fellowship at the German Parliament.

Zhibek Toktash

Program & Communications Officer

zhibek.toktash@fes.de 

Zhibek Toktash leads a project on the socio-economic development of nuclear-affected regions and the social protection reform of affected communities in Qazaqstan. She works closely with an interagency working group comprising several ministries to advance national policies on victim assistance, social protection, and sustainable development in historically nuclear-affected areas. Her work focuses on ensuring that the needs of impacted communities are reflected in national decision-making processes.
