Zauresh Shutova graduated F.Schiller University (Jena, Germany), the Faculty of Literature Theory and Art History. Starting from 2006 she heads the FES office in Astana. She is a coordinator of projects in such topics as principles of legal statehood, international standards of human rights, and support of trade union movement. An important part of her work is devoted to creating dialogue platforms on the same topics between representatives of state structures and civil society. Hobbies: simultaneous and consecutive translation on the governmental level.

Gulnara holds a higher degree in Economics, Law, and Humanities (Pedagogical Institute in Kokshetau). She previously worked in German Embassy in Almaty, “Najada Frauennetzwerk Almaty” NGO, where she was a co-organizer of several European projects on women's rights. Professional training: Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany on the issues of citizenship, FES financial reporting training in Bonn.

Alima Tengisbai coordinates gender projects at the FES Kazakhstan. She graduated from Kazakh Abylai Khan University of International relations and World languages. She is a fellow of the German Academic Exchange Service.

After graduating from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Mereilim had an internship at UNFPA (2015), FES Kazakhstan (2015), and at the German Bundestag (German Parliament, 2019). Currently Mereilim is a program officer at the FES Kazakhstan and is responsible for the projects on socio-ecological transformation, just climate, just cities and social justice. She is also involved in gender and youth policy projects.

Medet Suleimen is a graduate of the Politics and Security MA Program 2013 from OSCE Academy and also he has BA and MA in International Relations from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. He has been working since 2014 as a Programme Officer for the Friedrich Ebert Foundation Kazakhstan Office in Almaty (thereafter FES Kazakhstan). He manages an array of projects in the fields of foreign policy and youth policy. In 2017 he had a chance to take part in the International Parliament Scholarship Programme, a five-month fellowship at the German Parliament.

Zhibek Toktash holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics and Big Data (Almaty Management University). She had an exchange program at Istanbul Sehir University (Marmara University) in Istanbul, Türkiye. She is also a part of the alumni community of the Young Leadership Program 2020-2021, organized by FES. Zhibek runs the social media pages of FES Kazakhstan and is responsible for communications and PR. Areas of interest: data visualization, gender equality, and youth activism .
